Non-profit sector

Non-profits are an important social and economic force.  B.C. is home to over 29,000 non-profits. The sector employs over 86,000 people throughout the province. It contributes $6.7 billion to B.C.'s economy.

They are critical to our COVID recovery as they:

  • Build and maintain community resilience
  • Support our most vulnerable
  • Promote art, culture and sport
  • Provide essential services

The Parliamentary Secretary for Community Development and Non-Profits supports the non-profit sector.
