Transportation and infrastructure projects

The 2021 Flood Road Recovery Projects are being undertaken to address the transportation impact on these routes (Highways 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 11, 19, 99 and other side roads).

The Belleville Terminal Redevelopment Project will provide a safe, secure, state-of-the-art international gateway terminal for passengers and goods. 

The Cariboo Road Recovery Projects are being undertaken to address the transportation impact at these 10 major locations.

The program aims to reduce vehicle traffic and build an integrated transportation network through the Central Okanagan. 

This program will improve Highway 1 in the Fraser Valley to better serve the growing region and the more than 80,000 motorists who use the highway between Langley and Abbotsford, and through the Sumas Prairie into Chilliwack every day.

The Trans-Canada Highway 1 is the primary east-west connection through British Columbia. It is our main gateway to the rest of Canada, and a vital route for travel, tourism and trade. 

The Surrey Langley SkyTrain project will extend the Expo Line 16 kilometres primarily along Fraser Highway from King George SkyTrain Station in Surrey to 203 St. in Langley City. It will improve regional connections and provide fast, frequent, and reliable transit service for people and businesses across Metro Vancouver, especially south of the Fraser River.

Transit oriented development (TOD) maximizes residential, business and leisure space near public transport.

Other transportation infrastructure projects are specific construction, rehabilitation or improvements to highways, bridges, ferries and interchanges. 

COMPLETE - All four phases of the Lower Lynn Improvements Project are complete, providing improved traffic flow and better active transportation options for more than 120,000 daily commuters.

COMPLETE - Traffic is moving well and safety has been improved for residents and businesses south of the Fraser River following the completion of the Highway 91/17 and Deltaport Way Upgrade Project.
