Moratorium on polysomnography applications to bill the Medical Services Plan

The moratorium on applications for new, expanded or relocated overnight, attended (Level 1) polysomnography facilities has been lifted.

Established by the Medical Services Commission (the Commission) in February 2019, the moratorium supported the Ministry of Health while it undertook, on behalf of the Advisory Committee on Diagnostic Facilities (ACDF) and the Commission, a detailed review of B.C.’s service delivery environment for diagnostic sleep medicine.

As of September 30, 2022, the ACDF will again accept applications for new, expanded or relocated diagnostic outpatient polysomnography facilities.

See the Commission’s announcement (PDF, 38KB) concerning lifting the moratorium.
